Tips in USDG

Send USDG along with a message, in the same transaction. It goes straight from your wallet to theirs.

How tipping works

  1. 1In a chat, tap the tip button next to the message box and pick an amount (or type your own).
  2. 2The first time, your wallet asks you to allow HoodChat to move USDG for you. This is a standard token approval for exactly the amount needed.
  3. 3Send. The message and the tip go out in one transaction; the tip appears in both inboxes.

Good to know

  • HoodChat never holds your USDG. The contract moves it directly from you to the recipient and keeps nothing.
  • The recipient gets 100% of the tip. There is no tipping fee.
  • Tip amounts are public on-chain, like any token transfer. The message attached to it stays private.
  • USDG (Global Dollar) is a US dollar stablecoin issued by Paxos. On Robinhood Chain its address is 0x5fc5360D0400a0Fd4f2af552ADD042D716F1d168.
